Water Street Mission
The only men’s mission in Decatur which allows a 90-day transition period to find work,housing and to save money and in some cases reunite with families. We can currently house 20 men with a vision and a need to expand for more.
Larry Duncan works hard to help the men find their place in the community. And makes sure they have breakfast and a meal every evening. He arranges for large pick-up and delivery of items for Hope’s Attic. He has gathered many of the men throughout the year to help with the Ice Storm clean-up and yard work as needed throughout the community. We appreciate his faithfulness.
Doors open at 6pm every evening for anyone to attend a chapel service and have a home cooked meal at 7pm. Friday and Saturday nights have been drawing as many as 65 people from the streets for the service and meal. People are searching for an answer, at the Water Street Mission they do not just receive a free meal, they receive a spiritual meal.
