Blackwood Brothers Quartet
The Blackwood Brothers Quartet was formed in 1934 with brothers Roy, Doyle, James and Roy’s son, R.W. Although the group would not contain any brothers after 1950, the quartet with James as the enduring nucleus, would go on to become the best-known quartet in the history of gospel music.
In 2002, James Blackwood moved on to his eternal reward, but his son, Jimmy (James Jr.) continues the 75-year tradition. You won’t want to miss Jimmy’s testimony of being healed of pancreatic cancer!! The group today consists of Wayne Little and Randy Byrd, acclaimed the best tenor/bass combination in gospel music and Brad White baritone and piano showman. The result is one of the best quartets you will ever hear!

Discovery Rangers Pool Party
All boys going into 3rd through 5th grade are invited to a pool party at Commander Doug Cawthon’s house to kick off a new year of Royal Rangers. The party will be Sunday afternoon, August 23rd from 12:30pm – 3:00pm. Lunch will be provided and Dads are welcome to stay and join us. Come help us get this year started with some fun!!! “DOING LIFE TOGETHER”
EMPHASIS
Our church is planning a spiritual growth emphasis called DOING LIFE TOGETHER EMPHASIS, from September 25th through November 1st . One of the most exciting aspects of this EMPHASIS is the opportunity to gather in small groups that will meet in homes for the six weeks of the. EMPHASIS. These groups will watch a weekly video teaching session that will explore each week’s theme in a deeper way, and provide a time to discuss together the truths of scripture and how to apply them to our lives.
Right now, we are looking for Host Homes. where groups can meet to go through the six-week Bible study together. We are also looking for discussion leaders for these groups.
Please complete the Host Home Sign-up Card in your bulletin and either place it in the offering or take it to the DOING LIFE TOGETHER table (in the foyer) after the service.
